The stand-out tracks for me are Human Meadow, Paradise Lost and The Shape To Come (which is like something you would’ve heard from Planet Mu or Merck 10 years ago). I think it would be sick to hear a big wobbly dubstep remix of this last track.

I found this video over at Tokyo Dawn Records, this is just great. The track that J Dante is dancing to is by Comfort Fit a collabo of a lot of excellent electronic musicians who have just released a new album entitled Polyshufflez. Check it now at tokyodawn.net or get it on Itunes

Back in March I blogged two of Phaseone’s remixes one being of Burial’s Archangel. Today we have his new full length album, which is a collection of great laid back beats. The album starts off with some crazy bleak, futuristic synth intro. But I’m already bumping at the bassline before the beat starts. Tim Gun is something Oh No or J-Dilla fans will enjoy, and sounds like big-beat hip-hop from the year 2051. The album’s highlight in my opinion in the next track, Love Test (Only). Hot Mess / Metal Dub is a clash of IDM with instrumental hip-hop, and the final track Alladat is Phaseone demonstrating he can create excellent chopped-up hip-hop beats back in the present-day too. It’s good to see a variety of styles on a record, it keeps it interesting.

Here is a round up of some great things I have been hearing this week…

First up is a remix of Amon Tobin ‘Kitchen Sink’ which you can hear on his latest album, The Foley Room (which I highly recommend if you are a fan of this deep ambient breakbeat style). This is a remix by Clark that was posted over at AG

Amon Tobin – Kitchen Sink (Clark rmx)

Next up is the new Gescom – A1 D1 12″, comprising of 6 tracks. This is a very interesting and unpredictable record, and some of it is unexpected when you compare to earlier Gescom stuff. It kind of reminds me of the Envane EP which is in my opinion underrated. A1-D1 has clear Jazz and Funk influence. A1 just totally changes about half way through and it somehow works, while C1 sounds like something that would happen if Daedelus did a collaboration with Autechre, and it works well!

Gescom – A1

Gescom – C1

Sadahnmo, wow! This guy is producing some cool Indian IDM/Electronica and his stuff can be heard for free over at the Last.fm page. I particularly like the track ‘Sadahnmo stays in a palace‘

Finally, and for good measure, here is a little sample from Daft Punk’s sick Alive 2007 live album. Wouldn’t it be great to be in that stadium when this beat dropped?!

Daft Punk – HBFS Alive 2007

Peace

Mosiak is a Swedish artist who is associated with the demo scene and has the aliases Radix and Rymdlego

After being in hiding for a while, he has released some of his recordings on his website for free download. His music can be described as melodic IDM, a genre that seems to be dying out these days. If you have heard and enjoyed any Ochre, Proem, Bitcrush and Helios you will most likely enjoy this stuff.

The most obvious comparison can be made with Ochre, although Mosaik tends to focus more on the melody and compose around it, it appears as if Ochre does the opposite. Some of Mosaik’s music almost sounds as if he’s taken an RnB or Pop melody and thrown in some glitch for good measure. Other tracks sound like they have come straight out of a Demo-scene video, or the soundtrack to an RPG game, while some like ‘Clover’ are classic melodic electronica creations.

Here are some of the tracks from his site, bear with ‘em and listen to them through!
