Their LP dropped in June of this year and it’s definitely something that defines the music featured here. With their unique mix of funk, jazz and electronica, Outlines have created an album with a fresh, and definitely French approach to Hip-Hop. Good news for us! Outlines is Irfane (see lalettre7.com) with the vocals, Jerome Hadey with the production and Jay1. They have had a long time connection with the Wu-Fam.. particularly Shabazz the Disciple[1] and The RZA[1], [2] since the 90s. Because of this link The RZA is featured on their new album ‘Our Lives Are Too Short’ which dropped in June of this year. If you are familiar with DJ Mehdi[1], then you will be aware that they did a remix of Lucky Boy, it’s is in the playlist of this very site! I think it is great that the French and general electro scene is also branching out into Hip-hop, and we’ve seen this already with The Cool Kids. Paris seems like the place to be.
