Things are never boring with Four Tet’s music. Caribou’s take on his track Angel Echoes, which was released earlier this year, is insane. Jon Hopkins’ lays out his atmospheric electronic sound, just like we heard on Insides. Enjoy
Benga teams up with Katy B to drop this huge dubstep tune, which as of this post unreleased but forthcoming. Benga is bringing dubstep to the masses here without cheapening the sound, a rare feat – impressive.
There is a revival of garage happening in the UK, things have come full circle. Some people label it Future Garage. Artists like Joy Orbison, Duncan Powell, Submerse, Ramadanman and Burial are good examples. Others like Joker and Guido are making some sick progressive dubstep. The best thing is that these tunes can still be played in a club. For more info pay attention to labels Hot Flush, Punch Drunk and Hyperdub!

A friend of mine from the underground meditated, and the result was genre defiance.

2010 is getting crazy now. Midrange in dubstep drove it out of from its dark origins and we’re seeing Garage make a come back. Early oo’s instrumental hip-hop which was largely bass-driven and menacing is heavily influenced by electro and dubstep. The IDM of our time should be a label for the likes of Mount Kimbie and Mike Slott. shit is intelligent. I can’t categorise bass driven music anymore without there being ambiguity.

For a third time here is some more dubstep juiciness in mixtape form. I can’t help but feature Phaseone and Joker again, two amazing artists taking the genre in different directions. Also included is Akira Kiteshi (big!), Gemmy (so fresh!!), Hyetal and Shortstuff. Some very new tunes here as well as old. The last track being a taste of things to come. Peace..

From the depths. Some crazy progressive dubstep here. I’ve chosen from among my favourite tracks. And see if you can spot a hidden gem from 1994. Hope you enjoy it.

2009 is nearly over and we’ve seen some big tunes and crazy progressions in grime, dubstep and other bass music. I’m creating three individual mixes that cover the music I have been listening to this year plus a few exceptional tracks from ‘08. The first mix is called BEAST and it’s my take on the ever evolving dubstep/bass genre, including some of my favourites over the past year. Enjoy!

Chase & Status are a dance/electronic production duo from London consisting of Saul Milton and Will Kennard. Together they have grown rapidly since the birth of drum & bass.
Last year they had great success with their single “Pieces” feat Plan B, which I thought was amazing! They’ve hooked up again with Plan B for their followup single “End Credits”.
